A Question of When, Not If, to Start Your Media Ministry
When do you start a media ministry in your church?
At first glance, this seems like a ridiculous question. Many churches, especially young churches, are so media-driven that they wouldn’t even ask this question. At some of these churches, the media ministry was launched well before the first weekend gathering was planned. It’s no secret that our culture is heavily dependent on media and technology, but what does this mean for churches? Having team members and volunteers devoted to a media-centric ministry seems necessary to effectively engage society and impact our communities.
It’s completely logical to reason that if a pastor owns a smart phone or uses a computer in his weekend services, he should have a media ministry. But before you start creating lanyards to adorn the necks of your future media volunteers, let me offer a more general perspective for starting any ministry within your church. Read more
