Donald Trump's First 100 Days: "Gingrich: Trump dropping 'drain the swamp'"


"Drain the swamp" was a refrain of Donald Trump during the presidential campaign, but Newt Gingrich says the president-elect "doesn't want to use it anymore" now that he's knee-deep in alligators.

"I'm told he now just disclaims that. He now says it was cute, but he doesn't want to use it anymore," Gingrich, who informally advises Trump, said Wednesday on NPR's "Morning Edition."

The former House Speaker said that he had "written what I thought was a very cute tweet about 'the alligators are complaining,'" but that "somebody wrote back and said they were tired of hearing this stuff." Read More

If Trump treats the United States's existing Muslim population badly in the United States and bans Muslims from coming to the United States, his actions will have negative repercussions outside of the United States in Muslim countries and countries with large Muslim populations. Christians and other non-Muslims will experience greater persecution than they are presently experiencing. The new religious freedom act mandating the US government's intervention upon behalf of persecuted religious minorities and any such intervention under the provisions of the act will be seen as hypocritical since the United States will be denying religious freedom to Muslims. Trump will have robbed the United States of its moral authority.
