All Hallows Evening Prayer for Wednesday Evening (March 10, 2021) Is Now Online

All Hallows Evening Prayer is a service of worship in the evening for all pilgrims on the journey to the heavenly city.

The gospels tell Jesus’ story. While we may have a momentary glimpse into someone else’s story, they are not the focus of the gospels. Jesus is. At the same time, we are left to wonder what happened to these people. Did their encounter with Jesus set their feet on a different path from the one that they might otherwise have followed? The gospels do not tell us.

Aslan’s words in C. S. Lewis’s The Horse and His Boy come to mind. “Child, said the Lion, I am telling you your story, not hers. No one is told any story but their own.”

The gospels tell Jesus’ story. In their telling of his story, they ask the question that Jesus asked his disciples, “Who do you say I am?” However we answer, our story becomes intertwined with his.

The Scripture reading for this Wednesday evening is Luke 11:27-28 True Blessedness

The homily is titled, “Truly Blessed by God.”
