[The Age] February 6, 2006--What's all the fuss by followers of the prophet Muhammad? My Lord and Master, Jesus, has been the subject of scorn, laughter and parody not only of cartoons, but of films, TV sit-coms and documentaries, books and magazine articles. His name has been blasphemed by numerous, high-profiled comedians. The name of Jesus (unlike the name of the prophet Muhammad) is more than often the first expletive uttered by someone who hits the "wrong" nail with their hammer, and various derivations such as Jesus f---ing Christ! Christ bl---y almighty! are all heard in normal, Aussie, round-the-barbie conversation as well as the cricket and footy!
