[The Christian Challenge] February 16, 2006--Even when one considers the source—the resoundingly liberal Episcopal Diocese of California—it was hard to believe. But there it was, staring back at us from the jurisdiction’s website. The California diocese, which is preparing to elect a successor to Bishop William Swing, had held up as a model “shepherd” a deceased prelate whose ministry was marred by sexual misconduct with a teenager.
