Regional Deans Propose Mediation for Diocese of Pennsylvania

[The Living Church] February 9, 2006--With the approval of Bishop Charles E. Bennison, Jr., and the knowledge of the president of the standing committee, the 12 regional deans for the Diocese of Pennsylvania have asked the Presiding Bishop’s Office of Pastoral Development for assistance after Bishop Bennison declined a standing committee request for his retirement or resignation by March 31. The standing committee cited “fiscal management” and “trust” as reasons for making the request.
