[The Shreveport Times] 15 May 2007--It will take about 14 hours to complete an extraordinary medical procedure to remove a large growth from the jaw of an 18-year-old girl, surgeons said Monday during a news conference.

Crisla Yosep Pie, called "Lusila," of Barahona in the Dominican Republic, will receive the procedure May 22 thanks to the generosity of surgeons, Christus Schumpert Health System and radiologists, anesthesiologists and other health care providers who will assist in the procedure.

The Episcopal Diocese of Western Louisiana, which has sponsored a mission trip to the Dominican Republic for nine years, arranged to bring Lusila to Shreveport for the procedure.
