[CapeTimes] February 3, 2005--The word dominion derives from the Latin word dominium, meaning lordship. It belongs in the world of property ownership, where the lord has the right to the service of tenants on his lands, but also an implicit duty to see to their wellbeing.

True dominion, however, is the dominion of God, informed by love and carrying a duty to protect.
