[Church Times] February 18, 2005--The chairman of the business committee, the Revd Dr Richard Turnbull, explained why the two Archbishops had opposed the idea of a debate. It was their clear view, he said, “that to disturb the full and demanding agenda which we already have for this week would be quite wrong”. Dr Turnbull said that only a small number of members had requested a debate.
