[Kansas City Star] March 12, 2005--McCrary said Christ Church would prefer not to leave the Episcopal Church, “but that's not the option before us at this time.”

“We don't feel we can financially support the Episcopal Church in the direction it is going. We would prefer to stay and be a voice of joyous non-cooperation.”

The differences Christ Church has with the national church, McCrary said, include “teachings on the uniqueness of Jesus Christ, the trustworthiness of the Bible, what it means to be a Christian and follower of Jesus, and the authority of the church to contradict the clear teaching of Scripture.”
