[Crosswalk.com] April 5, 2005--Growing up in the Kurungu area of northern Kenya, Stakwell Yurenimo never heard the name Jesus. “We knew there was a god in the mountains, in the highest places,” says Yurenimo. “And we were scared that if we did something wrong, he would strike us with lightning.” Most of the Samburu fear God, Yurenimo adds. They think if they don’t go to church, something bad will happen.
