[The Church of England Newspaper] December 16, 2005--The 2008 Lambeth Conference will meet from July 16 to August 3 at the University of Kent in Canterbury, the Archbishop of Canterbury has announced and will take on a didactic rather than deliberative tone. The Conference will be an opportunity for “individual Christian pastors to meet Jesus afresh, for our Church to be renewed in mission, for the world to hear good news,” Dr Williams wrote in an Advent letter to the Primates of the Anglican Communion. Meeting at ACC headquarters in London from December 6-9, the 2008 Lambeth Conference Design Group, chartered by Dr Williams in February 2004 to plan the forthcoming Conference, reviewed the terms of participation and the aims of the next meeting of Bishops of the Anglican Communion. Canon Jim Rosenthal told The Church of England Newspaper invitations would be extended to all active stipendiary diocesan, suffragan and assistant bishops in the Communion.
