[Tennessean.com] 28 Sep 2006--The Episcopal Diocese of Tennessee has announced a new slate of five candidates for bishop and will try again later this month to elect a new overseer for its 51 Midstate congregations. The diocese released the names of five candidates nominated by a search committee to replace the retiring bishop, the Right Rev. Bertram Herlong, who has led the diocese since 1993. The election is scheduled to take place Oct. 28.
