[Anglican Mainstream] 13 April 2008--According to a comment posted on the Ugley Vicar blog:
"Integrity is providing all 136 American Episcopal bishops with British mobile phones with the phone numbers of all the other Episcopal bishops already programmed into the address book of the phone. The use of these phones is supposed to ‘make the ability to communicate news and information across the campus of the University of Kent in Canterbury, England much more efficient.’"
The poster asks,
"How many other bishops, particularly from the global South, will be so equipped. To my mind it appears to be a blatant attempt to manipulate the ‘indaba process,’ allowing American Episcopal bishops in different small groups to consult with each other."
This comment was posted by yours truly. Integrity's distribution of British mobile phones to US Episcopal bishops was originally reported in an article, "Colleagues Rally to Keep Bishop Robinson in Lambeth Spotlight," posted on The Living Church website.
