Is today’s worship in church real?

[Sunday Monitor] 21 Sep 2008--Hillsong’s chorus, “Here I am to worship, here I am to bow down” comes to mind when this topic is raised. Has worship taken a new twist today?

Many churches also seem to have changed the worship patterns to fit the modern world. The fact that we have taken to role of singing Hillsong music (the biggest Christian band in Australia) or the way we act on the outside during worship, the raising of hands, bowing down and sometimes kneeling. What is worship anyway and how does God require us to worship Him?

Is it the singing of songs, praying loud in tongues or bowing down? Is it the giving of money to the church or helping the needy? And does God require us to be still or motionless before Him in worship? Is it the reading of scriptures? Oh rather, is it a combination of all the above?
