Henry Luke Orombi: Man of God, Man of Action

[Virtue Online] 18 Oct 2008--He stands fully six and half feet tall. His smile is as wide as Lake Victoria that borders on the landlocked country of Uganda - his country.

His smile is as genuine as the gospel he preaches. Standing in front of a congregation of 800 evangelical Episcopalians, Henry Luke Orombi, the Archbishop and Primate of 9.2 million Ugandan Anglicans takes in the whole congregation with a gracious and winning smile. Then he preaches.

He talks about courage, of not being possessed by fear in these dark economic times. Then he reminds us that a large number of his people eat only one meal a day. The congregation takes in a deep breath and suddenly their own problems don't seem so immense. He keeps on smiling.

"God is good, He loves each one of you, and you don't need to be afraid." His words hit home.
