[Religious Intelligence] 7 Nov 2008--The Church of Uganda Clergy Women Fellowship (CUCWF) has urged the East African church to increase the number of female priests in the province. Meeting in Kampala on Sept 23, the women clergy association said that while the church had begun training deaconesses in 1964, and had been one of the first African provinces to ordain women, the number of women clergy had not kept up with the growth of the church.
