Greetings to the Anglican Church in North America from the Church of Ireland Evangelical Fellowship

[Anglican Mainstream] 30 May 2009--The Church of Ireland Evangelical Fellowship includes in its membership lay people, clergy and bishops in the Church of Ireland. Our committee, meeting on 28th May 2009, unanimously resolved that we should write to encourage you in the formation of the Anglican Church in North America.

We have followed with sadness the unfolding developments in The Episcopal Church and the Anglican Church of Canada. We know that many of you have suffered great loss (personal, parochial and diocesan) for upholding the orthodox faith in the face of radical innovation, and we want you to know that you have our full support.

Thanks.

I'm from St.Hilda's, Oakville, Ontario. We joined ANiC in Feb 2008 along with 2 other Niagara parishes; almost immediately the dio. of Niagara came down on the 3 parishes with unexpected force, inhibiting our rectors and effectively booting us out of our buildings when we need them most - Sunday morning.

For us, the ownership of the buildings is still up in the air: the diocese is intent on making a political statement by occupying the buildings every Sunday with about 5 people. We want to use the buildings for ministry; the diocese want to sell them to finance their decaying organisation.

At this point, I'm not sure I care that much who "wins" or "loses". What I am sure of is that God has called us to make this stand and he will bless us whatever the outcome.
