Police Arrest 14 Muslim Terrorists for Nigeria Church Attacks

Police have arrested 14 people in Nigeria in connection with this week's attacks on a church and numerous police stations in Maiduguri.

Three separate explosions killed 14 people this week in attacks that have been blamed on the Boko Haram Islamist sect, which is fighting to overthrow Nigeria's state.

Of those killed three were outside St Paktrick's Catholic Church in the northern city of Maiduguri.

Reports have confirmed that police recovered four AK-47 rifles and a motorcycle when they made the arrests. The Boko Haram Islamist sect is well-known in the region for using gunmen on motorcycles to carry out their attacks, and have used the technique to kill dozens of police officers and politicians over the past 12 months.

In a separate attack, a Christian preacher was gunned down by the motorcycle gunmen on Tuesday. Minister David Usman, and one of his work colleagues, from the Church of Christ in Nigeria were killed.

Revealing the indiscriminate brutality of the Boko Haram terrorists, on Monday a Muslim cleric was also shot dead outside his home, having previously openly criticized the militant group.
