When the Coronavirus Comes to Church: Are You Prepared?

As the coronavirus continues to spread outside of the epicenter in China, churches in the United States would be wise to prepare for a potential outbreak by educating themselves about coronavirus prevention. Asian churches have been taking precautionary measures for a few months now and many have even had to close their doors for a couple weeks in order to stop the spread of infection. What I have noticed is a significant number of students here at my university do not cover their noses and mouths when they cough or sneeze. This bad habit and the close quarters of classrooms, library, dorms, and cafeteria account for the spread of cold, flu, and other viruses in the faculty and staff as well as the student population. I have also noticed that a significant number of students do not wash their hands in circumstances in which washing one's hands might prevent one from becoming infected with a viral or bacterial infection or from spreading such an infection. There is little regard for their own well-being much less the well-being of others particularly in the male students. The university has hand sanitizer dispensers in every building but I have yet to observe a student use them.
