At the same time the fact that the Trump White House would even entertain this idea shows that Trump has surrounded himself with people who are lacking in empathy as himself. Trump has shown a willingness to accept a high level of casualties from the COVID-19 pandemic and his own bout with the virus has not made him any more concerned about the tremendous cost in human suffering and lives that his policies have caused and will continue to cause. Trump has courted pro-lifers for their votes. Protecting human life is not a genuine priority for him.
