All Hallows Evening Prayer is a service of worship in the evening for all pilgrims on the journey to the heavenly city.
The yearning to belong is a very human yearning. Some people go to great lengths to gain acceptance from the people in their lives, from those around them. Other people decide to go it alone at an early age, based upon what were for them painful life experiences. They choose to keep an emotional distance between themselves and the people in their lives. God in his merciful kindness loves them both and gives himself to them, embracing them as his own, as his beloved children—weaknesses, shortcomings, insecurities, and all.
The Scripture reading for this Saturday evening is Ephesians 1: 3-14 Spiritual Blessings in Christ.
