All Hallows Evening Prayer is a service of worship in the evening for all pilgrims on the journey to the heavenly city.
Most of us, I suspect, read the Scriptures spottily if we read them at all. We all, I suspect, would benefit from being more systematic in our reading the Bible. We are likely to get more out of slowly reading a short passage of Scripture aloud and meditating upon it than we would from reading several long passages silently. When we read silently, we tend to rush. When we rush, we do not digest what we are reading, much less assimilate it. The Scripture reading for this Saturday is 2 Timothy 3:14–4:5 Paul's charge to Timothy.
The homily is titled “How We Benefit from ‘Searching the Scriptures.’”
