Thursday' Catch: 'The As/So Dynamic' And More

Amy Orr Ewing: The As/So Dynamic
Jesus’ statement in John 13:34, “As I have loved you, so you love one another,” is a manifesto for Christian leadership, work, life and service. The as/so dynamic gives us an insight into how we are to love. In the life of Jesus, love looks like self-sacrifice not self-realization. Our faith is only as good as our love. Without love, all our accomplishments, efforts and breakthroughs are just noise.

How to Reform the Anglican Church in North America
This essay was first published on my personal Substack. It has been slightly revised in response to a few concerns raised by earlier readers. My aim is simply to describe what I see in the Anglican Church in North America and to suggest structural changes that might help us live together with greater peace and faithfulness.
A number of proposals advocated in this essay would in my estimation as a longtime observer of the ACNA exchange one set of problems for another set of problems and have a good chance of causing the breakup of the ACNA. The essay fails to take into consideration the theological diversity in the ACNA and the ramifications of the proposals advocated by the writer, particularly the proposed reorganization of the ACNA along the lines of TEC and the proposed changes in property ownership.
