[Anglican Mainstream] 13 Apr 2007--Dr. Rowan Williams will travel to Ontario next week to meet with the Canadian Church’s House of Bishops and deliver a lecture on Biblical interpretation at the University of Toronto. The two-day flying visit will be his first trip to Canada since his appointment as Archbishop of Canterbury, and comes at a delicate moment in the life of the Canadian Church as its General Synod prepares in June to vote on permitting same-sex blessings.

During the visit Dr Williams will join the Canadian House of Bishops’ meeting in Niagara Falls. A spokesman for Lambeth Palace told The Church of England Newspaper the Archbishop will spend April 17 with the bishops in “prayer and retreat.”
