[The Religion Report] 13 Apr 2007--Last week on the program we heard about the case before the Appellate Tribunal, the highest court of the Anglican Church in Australia, asking whether there is any impediment in the church's constitution preventing diocesan bishops from going ahead and consecrating women bishops.
Robert Tong is the President of Sydney's Anglican Church League, the political power base behind Archbishop Peter Jensen.
Robert Tong, welcome to the program. You've warned that if the Appellate Tribunal finds that bishops can bypass the General Synod, that would open a Pandora's Box, undermining unity and opening the floodgates for dioceses to go it alone on other issues. How would it undermine unity?
