Ease on down the road

[The News-Enterprise] 5 Sep 2007--Until recently, Holy Apostles had been what members call a “church in a box.”

Altars, tables … everything had to be loaded up and carted off each Sunday because this breakaway Anglican church rented space at the State Theater and Brown Pusey House.

“A church meeting in rented space is real awkward,” said the Rev. Kent Litchfield, the church’s rector. “You haven’t got control of your space.”

I am well acquainted with the experience. Every Sunday I help set up for two worship gatherings in the banquet room of a university student union and tear down afterwards.
