A joint adult and children's catechism consisting of 52 questions and answers adapted by Timothy Keller and Sam Shammas from the Reformation catechisms.
The Anglican Church in North America is producing its own catechism. It is modeled upon the Roman Catholic Church's catechism. It should prove interesting to say the least to compare it with Alexander Nowell's Catechism, a sixteenth century Reformed catechism approved by Convocation for use in English universities and grammar schools, and the New City Catechism, a modern-day Reformed catechism taken from the historic Reformed catechisms. When the ACNA catechism is published, Reformed and Anglican Reformed theologians need to examine it closely and point out its defects. In the case of Anglican Reformed theologians, this will include how far it departs from the historic catechisms of the Anglican Church. The latter include the Catechism of Thomas Becon as well as Nowell's Catechism and the Prayer Book Catechism. What I see emerging in the ACNA is a conservative form of liberal Catholicism. I am anticipating that this will be quite evident in the ACNA catechism.
