Pray for Japan

A magnitude 6.1 earthquake struck the Kansai region of Japan on Monday, killing at least four people and injuring more than 300 people. 9-year-old Rina Miyake was walking to school when a concrete wall surrounding a swimming pool fell on her. It was a heart-breaking reminder that Japan is not only vulnerable to earthquakes but also millions of its people have not heard the Gospel and are passing from this life into an eternity without God.

I learned about the earthquake late last night. A Google search led me to Prayercast’s webpage for Japan. Prayercast is asking visitors to this webpage to:
  • Pray for the Gospel to take root in Japanese culture and no longer be perceived as a western religion.
  • Pray for drifting, over-worked, and anxious youth to find freedom in Christ.
  • Pray for the unity of God's Spirit to demolish barriers dividing the 120 different denominations.
