All Hallows Evening Prayer for Sunday Evening (August 2, 2020)

I have just posted All Hallows Evening Prayer for Sunday Evening (August 2, 2020) on the All Hallows Murray weblog.

The selection of music is the same as Saturday evening’s service with three exceptions. The service begins with an instrumental prelude, based on Claude Goudimel’s original setting of Psalm 121 of the Genevan Psalter of 1551. The variable psalm is Psalm 121 of the Genevan Psalter of 1551, translated from the original French version and sung to Goudimel’s original setting. The dismissal hymn is Michael Leighton Jones’ choral arrangement of Charles Wesley’s “Jesus, Lover of My Soul,” and set to Joseph Parry’s hymn tune ABERYSTWYTH.

The reading is Luke 8:22-25.

The homily is titled, “Who Then Is This?” What conclusion do we reach about Jesus’ identity when we hear the account of his calming of the wind and the waves.

The link to the service is: https://allhallowsmurray.blogspot.com/2020/08/all-hallows-evening-prayer-for-sunday.html#more.

Please feel free to share the link with anyone whom you believe may benefit from the service.

I hope that the service is a blessing to you and provides a prayerful conclusion to your Sunday.
