In “ACNA: Who Will Be the Next Archbishop?” Joel Wilhelm offers his analysis of four bishops that he believes may be leading contenders for the office of archbishop of the Anglican Church in North America. As Joel
himself admits, we won’t really know who’ll be the next ACNA archbishop until the
solemn conclave of ACNA bishops makes their choice later this month. Look for
the white flag, white smoke, or whatever they'll use to signal the election of a new
ACNA archbishop.
On Anglican Ink George Conger reports that the Reformed Episcopal Church’s General Council has elected Royal Grote as the next REC presiding bishop. Good luck to the REC. Based on my own past dealings with
Bishop Grote, the REC will need it. My advice to the folks in the REC is not to
believe anything that Bishop Grote says.
The penny has finally dropped at 800 Maple Street and
someone has realized the value of regularly posting articles on developments in the ACNA on its website and in particular of show-casing what is happening in various ACNA churches and church plants.
Has anyone else noticed that the Episcopal
Church’s denominational headquarters and the Anglican Church in North America’s
denominational headquarters have similar addresses: 815 Second Avenue and 800
Maple Street? Coincidence?!
Check the prices for a day pass to Assembly 2014 and the prices for the other meetings. What is the ACNA conducting--a major fundraiser?
