Yet three days of “teleprompter Trump” is slender evidence when compared to sixteen months of watching “campaign Trump” respond to the pressure of tough questions and real events.
Already the forces of normalization are turning the candidate into a president to whom deference is owed. Already Trump’s supporters are suggesting that all is well and are questioning the propriety of even asking for the meaning of his statements made in the course of the campaign.
