The Season of Advent is the first season of the Christian church year. The word Advent is derived from the Medieval Latin adventus meaning “arrival” or “appearance.” The Advent Season has two focuses—the coming of Christ, which we celebrate during the Season of Christmas, and the seconding coming of Christ. It is a season of preparation and expectation. I invite you to make All Hallows Evening Prayer a part of your observance of the Advent Season.
The Scripture reading for this evening service is Matthew 24: 3-14The title of the homily for this evening service is “A Sign of Jesus’ Return.”
