All Hallows Evening Prayer for Wednesday Evening (November 9, 2022) Is Now Online

All Hallows Evening Prayer is a service of worship in the evening for all pilgrims on the journey to the heavenly city.

Words can heal as well as hurt. The words of the Shaker song which Sister Polly M. Rupe, a member of the Shaker community at Pleasant Hill, Kentucky, wrote in 1867, remind us, “Gentle words kindly spoken often soothe the troubled mind, while links of love are broken by words that are unkind.” They remind us that as followers of the Lamb, we are called to be ministers of healing.

The Scripture readings for this Wednesday evening are Isaiah 6 Isaiah’s Cleansing and Call and Matthew 5:21-37 Jesus’ Teaching about Anger, Adultery, Divorce, and Vows.

The homily is titled “Called to Be a Community of Healing.”
