[Anglican Mainstream] 4 Dec 2007--In part I I described Time’s article on the remarkably successful efforts of a gay political elite in teaching a very important lesson to US politicians foolish enough to support retrograde anti-gay efforts in public. 50 out of 70 politicians were personally targeted and defeated. They won’t forget the lesson, nor will those watching how they went down in flames. Though no doubt many factors were operant, one of the key ones is called deterrence and works to perfection.
