Small churches can be extremely resilent. They can also kill themselves. One way that can kill themselves is by becoming too inward-looking, catering to the preferences of the members, and having negligible connections to the community in which they are located. I was for several years involved in one such church which has now disbanded and sold its building. If your small church exhbits these characteristics its days may be numbered.
