Inaugural services will be held Sunday at the Days Inn on Michigan Avenue
Folks from all over southeast Michigan are invited to make a spiritual quest this weekend to an Anglican Church that is setting up operations at Canton’s Days Inn at 40500 Michigan Ave.
The denomination originated in England, but Canton’s version will have a heavy Nigerian flavor, as the Rev. Paul U. Aduba, a journalist-turned-priest in Nigeria, will host the church’s inaugural worship service at noon on Sunday.
“Hopefully people will have a wonderful time on Sunday,” said Aduba. “We pray for people who are sick, discouraged, who are considering suicide, and everybody else you can think of.”
According to Aduba, there are about 17 million Anglicans in Nigeria.
“Every Sunday in Nigeria is like the Super Bowl here in America,” he said. “We worship and we heal people. That’s what we do.”
