All Hallows Evening Prayer is a service of worship in the evening for all pilgrims on the journey to the heavenly city.
As well as containing generous promises, the Bible contains solemn warnings—warnings that we would be wise to heed. Among these warnings are warnings against prophets who, while claiming that they have heard God’s voice, tell people what they want to hear.
The reading appointed for this Sunday evening’ service is Jeremiah 23: 1-16 A Promised Shepherd for the Sheep of Israel.
The homily is titled, “A Promise and a Warning.”
