All Hallows Evening Prayer is a service of worship in the evening for all pilgrims on the journey to the heavenly city.
Poor Thomas. He has long been remembered as a doubter. Hence the expression, “Don’t be such a doubting Thomas,” which is not heard much these days but was more common in the days of my youth. I don’t believe that we should be too hard on Thomas. Many of us have hesitated before we took the first step on faith’s journey. Like Thomas we needed a nudge to take that step.
The Scripture reading for this Sunday is John 20: 19-31 Jesus Appears to Thomas.
The homily is titled “Believing What We Have Not Seen.”
