All Hallows Evening Prayer is a service of worship in the evening for all pilgrims on the journey to the heavenly city.
When God chose to become the God of the people of Israel and to make them his people, God did not give the cold shoulder to the rest of humanity. God did not show an unfriendly attitude toward the other people on the earth. He did not intentionally ignore them or show no interest in them as we sometimes do toward those whom Jesus taught us to love. He did keep a secret from the people of Israel, a secret that he revealed when Jesus walked the earth. Can you guess what that secret was?The Scripture reading for this Sunday is Luke 4:21-30 Jesus’ words infuriate the people of Nazareth who attempt to kill him.
The homily is titled “Good News Indeed.”
