All Hallows Evening Prayer is a service of worship in the evening for all pilgrims on the journey to the heavenly city.
In an age of immediate gratification, we may be tempted to give up when God does answer our prayers right away. With the story of a neighbor who knocks on the door of a friend’s house late at night, asking to borrow three loaves of bread to feed a guest who has arrived unexpectedly at his home, Jesus encourages his first disciples and us to persist in prayer.
The Scripture reading for this Saturday evening is Luke 11: 1-13 The Lord’s Prayer.
The homily is titled “How God Answers Prayer.”
