All Hallows Evening Prayer is a service of worship in the evening for all pilgrims on the journey to the heavenly city.
Most of us are somewhere between seeing ourselves, other people, and the world the way the world sees us, other people, and the world and seeing ourselves, other people, and the world the way Jesus sees us, other people, and the world. We are somewhere between living the way the world lives and the way Jesus would have us live. Some of us are moving in the world’s direction while others are moving in Jesus’ direction. No one is standing still. If we are not moving in Jesus’ direction, we are moving in the other direction. The Holy Spirit nudges us in Jesus’ direction. God’s grace gives us the will and the power to move in that direction. The allure of the world and the temptation of our inward desires impede us.
The Scripture reading for this Wednesday evening is Mark 8: 1-26 He Again Feeds the People Miraculously.
