All Hallows Evening Prayer is a service of worship in the evening for all pilgrims on the journey to the heavenly city.
To a small boy on a bicycle, who had spent a sun-drenched summer day traversing the hedged lanes of the English countryside, a signpost whose wooden finger pointed to the way home was a welcome sight. While he may not have realized it at the time, that signpost was put there by God’s grace, God’s grace that had sent him down unfamiliar roads in search of the church of a long-gone village, in search of God himself. The Scripture reading for this Sunday evening is John 20:19-23 Jesus Appears to the Disciples.
