All Hallows Evening Prayer is a service of worship in the evening for all pilgrims on the journey to the heavenly city.
At one time the county where I lived as a teenager had numerous artesian wells. Most of them have been capped from fear that they were lowering the water table. A few whose location has been forgotten or is hidden are still bubbling away. The water is cold and has the strong taste of minerals, particularly iron. But on a hot summer day it quenched the thirst of a teenaged boy. At least for a while. It is not like the water that Jesus offers us.
The Scripture reading for this Wednesday evening is Isaiah 55:1-12 An Invitation to Abundant Life
