All Hallows Evening Prayer for Wednesday Evening (October 6, 2021) Is Now Online

All Hallows Evening Prayer is a service of worship in the evening for all pilgrims on the journey to the heavenly city.

Wednesday evening’s homily took a surprise turn, which was not something that I had planned to address in the homily.

I do not believe that it is fruitful to speculate on what may be secret will of God. What we do know is what God’s ambassador, Jesus, taught. Yes, ambassador is one of Jesus’s roles and titles.

Some things that Jesus taught makes us uncomfortable, but Jesus may have wanted to make us feel uncomfortable because he wanted us to give serious thought to what he was saying.

One of these things is that it is not enough for us to call Jesus Lord. He must indeed be the Lord of our heart and the Lord of our life.

God may have thought that my readers and I needed a reminder.

The Scripture reading for this Wednesday evening’s service is Hebrews 1: 1-4; 25-16 God Has Spoken by His Son.

The homily is titled “Jesus—Teacher, Savior, Lord.”
