All Hallows Evening Prayer is a service of worship in the evening for all pilgrims on the journey to the heavenly city.
The Scripture reading for this Saturday evening is James 2: 14-26 Faith Without Works Is Dead.
The homily is titled, “A Fruitful, Living Faith,” and touches on how such a faith is essential to an effective witness to Jesus.
The dismissal song, Laura Wasson’s setting of James Quinn’ hymn, “Christ Be Beside Me,” is scored for SATB choir (with descant), organ, and oboe, and is available from Oregon Catholic Press (OCP). Titled ST. ROSE, it is the original setting of the hymn which can also be sung to the Gaelic traditional melody BUNESSAN.
